February 2013 - Apply for a grant from the Community Fund

GRANT FUNDING FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS AVAILABLE THROUGH HILL Of TOWIE WIND FARM COMMUNITY FUND

Renewable energy company RES is delighted to announce that funds are still available for local community groups through the Hill of Towie Wind Farm Community Fund.

The scheme has to date assisted 11 community projects with grants totalling over £38,000 and is keen to hear from other groups who may need funding to continue or expand their activities. The groups must be properly constituted and be based or active in the defined area of benefit - Mulben, Drummuir and Keith and District.

The scheme is funded by RES, who own and operate Hill of Towie Wind Farm, and is administered on their behalf by local environmental charity REAP.

Ruth Anderson, REAP Trustee, said: "We know there are lots of fantastic groups in the local community who could benefit from the community fund. REAP are always on hand to offer more information about the fund to interested groups and support them in filling in the application form."

Rachel Anderson, RES Community Relations Manager, said: "We are delighted that community projects are already benefiting from the community fund and would urge other groups to apply. We hope the funding makes a significant difference to the great work local projects do."

The next application deadline is 26th March with the Decision Making Panel meeting on 16th April.
